Connect Your Lumealert Lightbox to WLED
This simple guide shows you how to get your Lumealert Lightbox working with WLED. We’ve written it to be easy, even if you’re not great with technology. Take it step by step, and you’ll be set up in a few minutes.
What you’ll need
- Your Lumealert Lightbox (powered on)
- A phone or computer connected to your home Wi‑Fi
- WLED app or web interface
- Your Lumealert account (you can create one free)
Step 1 — Power on your Lightbox
Plug in the Lightbox. You should see lights turn on. If nothing happens, double‑check the cable and outlet.
Step 2 — Connect WLED to your Wi‑Fi
- Go to your device’s Wi‑Fi settings.
- Choose the Wi‑Fi named “WLED‑AP”.
- If prompted, enter the password wled1234.
- If you’re on Android, tap “Sign in to the network” when it appears. If that prompt does not appear, open your web browser and type http://4.3.2.1 in the address bar.
- This will take you to the WLED page.
- Tap “Config” in the top right.
- Tap “WiFi Setup”.
- Tap “Scan”.
- Wait about 5 seconds for the scan to finish, then choose your home network from the “Network Name” dropdown.
- Enter your home network password.
- Tap “Save & connect”.
- After saving, your phone will automatically disconnect from “WLED‑AP” and reconnect to your home Wi‑Fi.
Note: If everything connected successfully, you will no longer see “WLED‑AP” in your Wi‑Fi list.
Tip: Keep your phone near your router during this step for the best results.
Step 3 — Add your Lightbox to Lumealert
- Login or Register
- On the dashboard, look for “Lumealert Lightboxes” (in the purple box).
- Click the purple “Add box”.
- Add a Device Name — any name you want.
- Add the device code.
- Click “Add Device”.
- Once completed, look for the green box and click “Let’s go” under create scenes.

Step 4 — Pick your teams
Choose your favorite teams. Your Lightbox will celebrate scores and big moments in real time.
