Guide: Getting started with Lumealert!

Step 1: Open the Govee Home App

Make sure you have the Govee Home app installed on your smartphone. You can download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Step 2: Sign In to Your Govee Account

Launch the Govee Home app and sign in using your registered email and password. If you don’t have an account yet, create one by following the in-app instructions.

Step 3: Navigate to the API Key Request Page

  1. Tap on the Profile tab (usually located in the bottom right navigation bar).

  2. On the top right of your Profile tab, click the Cogwheel settings icon

  3. Look for the Apply for API Key option and tap on it.

Step 4: Submit the API Key Request

  1. The app will prompt you to enter an email address.

  2. Provide the email address where you want to receive your API key.

  3. Tap Submit to send the request.

Step 5: Check Your Email

Govee will send your API key to the email address you provided. This process usually is instant. Be sure to check your spam or promotions folder if you don’t see it in your inbox.

Step 6: Use Your API Key

Once you receive your API key, you can put that into Lumealert setup, and start creating your scenes on your Dashboard 

Troubleshooting

  • Didn't receive the email? Double-check your spam folder and ensure you entered the correct email address.

  • No API Key request option? Ensure your app is up to date and try again.

  • Key not working? Contact Govee support through their app or website.
